Mayor Wheeler’s office today announced that the initial investigation into the hit-and-run case that resulted in false accusations against Portland City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty is complete. The Portland Police Bureau submitted the case to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s office, which filed two counts of Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver against Shirley Collins, age 65, of Vancouver, Washington.

Due to the significant number of requests for documents related to the incident, the Police Bureau is making the case file available on the Portland Police Bureau Records Division Trending Topics page: https://portlandor.govqa.us/WEBAPP/_rs/(S(jsvgrrow4y5kaxn35guki5l3))/BusinessDirectory.aspx.

The case file also was shared with Commissioner Hardesty’s office. Hardesty’s office is reviewing the file and will respond to questions from the media next week.
