Mayor Wheeler To Release Proposed Budget For FY 2020-21

The Office of Mayor Wheeler will be hosting two budget related press conferences via Zoom next week.

The first is on Monday, May 4th. City Budget Office Director Jessica Kinard and City Economist Josh Harwood will brief media on the budget process and how it has evolved with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on the economy. Eileen Park, our Director of Communications will be moderating. This is an opportunity for reporters to ask questions about the overall budget process, not specific to the Mayor’s proposed budget.

Then, Thursday, May 7th, Mayor Ted Wheeler will hold a news conference to release his proposed budget for fiscal year (FY) 2020-21 for the City of Portland. The Mayor and City Budget Office Director Jessica Kinard will be speaking.

City Economist Josh Harwood and Chief Human Resource Officer Cathy Bless will be on standby, ready to answer any questions. Eileen Park will also be moderating this press conference.

Both convenings will be virtual events conducted via Zoom and live-streamed on the Mayor’s YouTube channel.
