Mayor Wheeler, Friends of Baseball, MLB To Host Second Annual Play Ball Portland Clinic

The clinic offers kids a chance to play baseball for the first time and gain more confidence when playing

Portland, OR–Mayor Wheeler has partnered with Friends of Baseball, MLB’s Play Ball and the US Conference of Mayors to bring the free Play Ball Portland Clinic to the city for the second year in a row.

Play Ball Portland Clinic

  • Saturday, July 21
  • Walker Stadium – Lents Park
  • 4727 SE 92nd Ave.
  • 3-5 pm

The clinic will feature:

  • Mayor Ted Wheeler, Dillon the Pickle and other VIPs to kickoff this second annual Play Ball event in Portland
  • Baseball clinicians leading fun, active stations -- participants will rotate stations throughout the day
  • Each youth participant will receive Play Ball swag (Play Ball tee and wristband, Bat and Ball set, baseball stickers, a Portland Pickles cap and 1 free Portland Pickles Berm ticket for that evening's game at 7:00 pm)
  • Free hot dog meal with chips and a beverage provided
  • Family Fest will include face painting, activity booths from Friends of Baseball and Positive Coaching Alliance, and food vendors.
