We are making two important improvements to Portland’s water supply from Bull Run. Both projects are required under state and federal law.

The Portland Hydroelectric Project generates electricity from the water stored in the Water Bureau’s Bull Run water supply reservoirs and is licensed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

The Portland Water Bureau improves our water system every day by maintaining, repairing, and upgrading our infrastructure. We invest in our water system to keep our infrastructure up to date and increase our ability to provide water during and after emergencies.
