Update March 14, 7pm: Crews have successfully repaired the water main and are now preparing to fully restore service. The repair required replumbing a service line to Holladay Park, extending the timeline. Traffic will still be impacted while the street is being fixed.

The City is advising travelers to avoid the area. There is no through-traffic between NE 11th and 13th Avenues on Multnomah. A flagger is on-scene directing traffic to a detour.

Drivers should use caution while driving in the area. Keep your distance from crews, give flaggers plenty of space, and slow down when traveling through work zones.

Water service impacts

Water service is impacted for many homes and businesses in the area, including Lloyd Center and Lloyd Regal Lloyd Cinemas. Impacted customers may be out of water or asked to boil water for the duration of the repair. If you have yellow or brown water at your tap and are impacted by a discolored water event, there is guidance on the City's website. Learn what do to about low water press or discolored water on the Water Quality Line web page.

About the break

Crews are responding to a break in a 16-inch cast iron water main made in 1957. The first team on-site is working to stop the flow of water and pinpoint the location of the break.
