Flushing is a type of routine maintenance to improve water quality. Automatic flushing devices, or autoflushers, are connected to hydrants and programmed to flush water at certain times and flow rates in areas that need frequent flushing. These autoflushers allow for water quality to be improved daily at these locations, and are run at times that allow for minimal impact on residents or pedestrians.

An autoflusher is currently installed on a hydrant at NW Skyline Blvd & NW McNamee Rd. It is programmed to flush for 6 hours every day between 12:00am - 06:00. If residents see the autoflusher running during a time outside of these hours, please contact the Water Quality Line at 503-823-7525.
