How to stop all water charges

To stop all water charges, the water service must be removed and disconnected from the water main. This includes removing the water meter and box, capping the water service line at the water main, and restoring the work area.

The cost to remove a 2-inch or smaller water service starts at $7,545.00.

If you are paying to have a new, larger meter installed at the same time a 2-inch or smaller meter is being killed, we will waive up to $7,545.00 of the cost to kill the smaller service.

Contact Water Service at 503-823-7368 (option 5) to get the cost of removal for a specific location.

Permanent removal of a water service may decrease the value of your property. To add a new service in the future, you would need to pay installation fees and potentially system development charges.
