You can apply for a permit to use water from hydrants. We offer annual hydrant permits and temporary hydrant permits
Water service installation and development
Questions related to residential and commercial building permits and/or Water System Development Charges should be directed to Water Permit Review staff at Portland Permitting & Development.
- Contact our Water Services team at waterservices@portlandoregon.gov or 503-823-7368 (option 5) to schedule installation of water service lines 3” and larger and hydrants, for voluntary requests to add/replace water meters without a building permit, or for other questions about existing water assets
