About Turkish Filbert at OSU's Plant Facts:
- Native to Turkey and Southeast Europe.
- Can grow to 60’ when mature.
- Tree grows in an upright pyramidal shape; creating a large shade tree.
- Nuts grow in clusters and covered with a husk and mature in in early Fall.
- Popular wildlife food source for squirrels and edible for people, too!
- Only 6 mature trees found in Portland Parks.
