Giant Sequoia

About Giant Sequoia at OSU's Landscape Plants site
Native to the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Height can exceed 275’ and the circumference can be over 90’ (the largest in the world).
Needles are gray-green, sharp, cord-like, and surround the shoot.
Seed cones are 1.5-3.5” long and ovoid.
Rather common in Portland. Can easily be spotted by height and pointy top. Many planted around 1900.
