Umbrella Pine

About Umbrella Pine at OSU's Landscape Plants site
Native to Japan only on the island of Honshu.
Height to 150’ but less than 100’ in cultivation.
Needles are 3-6” long, in whorls resembling umbrella ribs with bright green coloring.
Seed cones are 2-4” long, ovoid, fi rst green then brown.
Rather common in Portland, many about same size.
#189 and #190 were planted around 1920.
