  • Leaves have pointy lobes (5-7) and deep, C-shaped sinuses; glossy green above and paler beneath.

  • Acorns are ovoid, 0.5-1”, cup goes halfway down.

  • Fall foliage is scarlet.

  • Uncommon in Portland.
