- Small deciduous tree, spreading
- Showy white semi-double flowers, 3 per pendulous cluster, blooming March to April
- Leaves are serrated, alternate, oval in shape and 2-4” long.
- Bark has large prominent lenticels
- Fall color is yellow to bronze
