  • Native from B.C. to Montana to southern California.

  • Height can reach well over 200’.

  • Needles 5 to a bundle, 3-5” long; tree color is bluish.

  • Seed cones are 5-15” long and slightly curved.

  • Botanic name means “mountain inhabiting,” but on Vancouver Island it grows to sea level.

  • Rare in Portland.
