Native from B.C. to Montana to southern California.
Height can reach well over 200’.
Needles 5 to a bundle, 3-5” long; tree color is bluish.
Seed cones are 5-15” long and slightly curved.
Botanic name means “mountain inhabiting,” but on Vancouver Island it grows to sea level.
Rare in Portland.
