Volunteer event
Volunteers needed to plant trees with students at Columbia Regional Services.

Urban Forestry is working with Columbia Regional Services to plant trees on their grounds. We are looking for adult volunteers* to help plant the trees!
Work will include:
- Setting out tools
- Watching a demonstration on how to properly plant a tree
- Leading elementary students in the tree planting process
- Helping students dig their hole, lift their tree, and talking them through the steps for tree planting.
- Staking trees
- Cleaning up tools
Details:
- Each volunteer will be planting 2 trees with 2 different groups of students.
- We will work rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes.
- Snacks and water will be provided to volunteers. Please bring a reusable water bottle.
- Urban Forestry will have gloves and all the tools needed.
*This event is only for adults. Volunteers working this event need to have a background check on file with Portland Parks & Recreation. If you aren't sure if you have a background check on file or need to fill out the form, please contact Elena at elena.amaya@portlandoregon.gov.
