Slough Science: Emerald Ash Borer

Join Anya Moucha, Urban Forestry Forest Pests and Pathogens Coordinator, and Ryan Gilpin from Nidus Consulting for an evening with the Columbia Slough Watershed Council to discuss the destructive Emerald Ash Borer beetle.

Emerald Ash Borer has killed millions of ash trees across the country and was first detected in Forest Grove in 2022 and Portland in 2025. Ryan and Anya will share the latest information, provide ideas on how to help, and listen to ideas for navigating this upcoming challenge.

Getting there: This event will be held in the "Annex" at Level Beer. Keep an eye out for Columbia Slough Watershed Council signs when you arrive. Parking is free in their lot.

Public Transportation: Bus 87 and 21 make stops nearby.

Level Beer: This is an all-ages venue. Address: 211 Northeast 148th Avenue, Portland, OR, 97230

Accessibility: This site has restrooms and seating available. There is a small door frame lip at the entrance to the event area, but otherwise no stairs present.
