- Native to Europe and Asia Minor
- Capable of reaching heights up to 75’, though usually ranges between 40-60’
- Alternate branching with doubly-toothed leaves and tapered ¼” long winter buds
- Tree bears male and female flowers, or catkins
- Bark is smooth and gray
- The natural form of 335 and 336 is rare in Portland
