  • Native to Europe and Asia Minor
  • Capable of reaching heights up to 75’, though usually ranges between 40-60’
  • Alternate branching with doubly-toothed leaves and tapered ¼” long winter buds
  • Tree bears male and female flowers, or catkins
  • Bark is smooth and gray
  • The natural form of 335 and 336 is rare in Portland
