Trade in Parking Permit for a Transportation Wallet

Service
Current permit holders in the Central Eastside (Zones G & N) and Northwest (Zone M) Parking Districts are eligible to trade in permit(s) for free Transportation Wallet(s). Rules and restrictions apply.

The form will take 5-10 minutes to complete.

About

The Transportation Wallet is a collection of passes and credits for use on transit, streetcar, bike-share and scooters. Current residential and business permit holders in the Central Eastside and Northwest Parking Districts can trade in unused permits in exchange for free Transportation Wallets. This is one of PBOT's strategies to effectively manage on-street parking demand by increasing parking supply.

Residents

Residents can trade in a current Zone G, N, or M parking permit in exchange for a free Transportation Wallet.

Program Rules:

  • You currently have a valid Zone M, G, or N Parking Permit.
  • Instead of renewing your permit, you are trading it in exchange for a free Transportation Wallet.
  • One you trade, you are ineligible for a Zone M, G, or N Parking Permit for 1 year (365 days from the date of applying for this promotion).
  • You cannot trade your permit back in for a permit.
  • If you disregard the program rules and apply for a Parking Permit within a year after receiving a free Transportation Wallet through this promotion, you will be charged $99 for the cost of the Wallet by the City of Portland.

Employers

Employers can trade in unused business permits for free Transportation Wallets. Apply at portland.gov/zoneparking and scroll midway down the page to search for "Business Employee Roster and Transportation Wallet Form" under your parking district zone.

After submitting your application and verifying eligibility, PBOT staff will email a link to have individual employees redeem their own Transportation Wallets as part of this promotion. PBOT does not send out Transportation Wallets in bulk.
