This is a transportation benefit package provided at no cost by the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) that includes a TriMet Honored Citizen 1-year Pass, a BIKETOWN for All Membership, and $30 in e-scooter credits.
How long does it take to receive my Income-qualified Parking District Transportation Wallet?
If eligible, an Income-qualified Parking District Transportation Wallet may take up to 2 weeks for receiving, reviewing, and processing all necessary applicant information. Your Hop card you provided at sign up will be loaded remotely with the TriMet 1-year Pass. You will receive an email order confirmation with access codes for other options, if selected, with instructions on how to sign up for those benefits. You will not receive anything in the mail!
Do I qualify for an Income-qualified Parking District Transportation Wallet?
Eligible applicants are residents and employees in the Central Eastside and Northwest Parking Districts who live on low incomes. Eligible applicants must provide proof of participation in one of the income-assistance programs posted on our website, as well as have their own physical TriMet Hop card when applying. We cannot accept virtual Hop cards.
How do I sign up for an Income-qualified parking District Transportation Wallet?
Refer to the program page for more information.
Can I get more than one Income-qualified Parking District Transportation Wallet per year?
No. You can only get one per calendar year. However, eligible applicants can reapply annually within two months before their TriMet Honored Citizen 1-year Pass is set to expire.
I had a Transportation Wallet last year. Do I have to apply again even if they are no changes with my information?
Yes! Because the program benefits and eligibility requirements may change, it is important to reapply each year. There is also no "auto" renewal.
TriMet and Hop card Questions
Can I use my virtual Hop card number when I sign up for an Income-qualified Parking District Transportation Wallet?
No, unfortunately not. You must have a physical Hop card. Our program cannot load virtual Hop cards based on how TriMet programs their system. Learn more about Virtual Hop Cards.
Can I use my TriMet LIFT Hop Card to sign up for this program?
Yes, however we cannot load a TriMet Honored Citizen Annual Pass on that type of card. Instead, we can offer you the dollar value equivalent of an Honored Citizen Annual Pass, which is $308. TriMet has a maximum dollar limit of $250; therefore, we will load your card in two $154 increments so long as your existing balance is at or below $96. This benefit is valid for one year from the date you sign up for an Income-qualified Parking District Transportation Wallet. If your balance does not reach $96 during this timeframe, we will be unable to load the remaining $154 outside of the 12-month period.
Why can't I use my TriMet Honored Citizen 1-year pass right away?
If you are receiving a new TriMet 1-year pass, it is valid from the 1st of the month and is valid for one year. There may be a gap in service depending on when you apply.
I lost my Hop card. How can I replace it?
If you have a registered Hop card and it is ever lost or stolen, let TriMet know immediately by logging in to your account and choosing "Report Lost or Stolen" on the Hop website or in the Hop app. Or call TriMet at 1-844-MYHOPCARD (694-6722). TriMet is available 7:30 am.-5:30 pm, daily.
When does my TriMet Honored Citizen 1-year Pass expire?
You can check your expiration on TriMet's website by entering in your 16-digit Hop card number and Security Code.
I have more than two months remaining on my TriMet Honored Citizen 1-year Pass. Can I apply for an Income-qualified Transportation Wallet?
No. You must wait until you have two months or less on your Pass before you can reapply.
