Plan ensures city focuses on effective and equitable outcomes, guiding work around improving mobility, removing burdens, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Portland's highest-crash streets and intersections in low-income communities and communities of color receive priority for investments in safety.
Portland’s Vision Zero Action Plan sets out specific, measurable actions to move toward zero traffic deaths or serious injuries on Portland streets.
A transportation-themed class with an emphasis on land use, mobility, social justice and racial equity. The fall 2023 class will be conducted in person in accordance with PSU. Class time will be used for presentations from guest speakers, activities and class discussion.

We use equity data and traffic crash data to identify and prioritize investments.
In the past, a lot of traffic safety work focused on the individual behavior of road users. In contrast, Vision Zero’s Safe System approach considers how the people who design, build, and manage the transportation network can prioritize the lives and health of people using the system.
