Overview
The BIKETOWN Youth Ambassador Program gives students hands-on experience in project management, public speaking, and leadership while supporting active transportation and sustainability efforts in their school communities.
BIKETOWN Youth Ambassadors are responsible for:
- Scheduling and hosting three (3) in-class presentations about the benefits of choosing active transportation, e-bike safety, and how to use Portland's bike-share system, BIKETOWN.
- Scheduling and hosting three (3) test-ride sessions supported by Portland Bureau of Transportation staff where students can ask questions about the bikes and take them for a quick ride.
- Serving as a point of contact for BIKETOWN information among your peers.

Timeline
- December 15, 2025: Application deadline
- Late December 2025 - Early January 2026: Applicants notified of decisions
- January 1, 2026: Start of program
- June 1, 2026: End of program

Eligibility
- 16 years or older (or turning 16 by January 1, 2026)
- Student at Roosevelt, McDaniel or Parkrose high schools
Participants
We will be recruiting three (3) students per school.
Compensation
Earn up to a maximum of $320 for 20 hours of work.
