Earth Day Bike Bus

Join our bike bus on Earth Day!

We encourage you to join us on one of nine unique bike bus routes on your ride to downtown the morning of Tuesday, April 22—Earth Day!

A bike bus is a group of students—but in this case, adults—biking to school—but in this case, downtown—together. Bike buses have been around for decades, but they have become increasingly popular in recent years. To learn more, read this Bike Portland story about the City of Portland bike bus.

Each bike bus will depart from their start location at a different time and arrive at Salmon Street Springs at 8:15 a.m.

Catch a ride on one of nine unique bike bus routes! Join the bike bus from the starting location along the route. All bike bus ride leaders will have a bright lime green bandana tied to their handle bars for easy identification. 

SW Hillsdale

Music, coffee, treats, and more!

All bike bus routes will travel to Salmon Street Springs (SW Naito Parkway and Salmon Street) to meet all other rides for a group photo at 8:15 a.m. After the group photo, hang around Salmon Street Springs to enjoy coffee and treats. River City Bicycles will be there to support riders participating in the ride, and share some information about commuter friendly e-bikes!

Our friends, NakedHearts:PDX, will join one lucky bike bus route from the start and blast tunes to hype up the bike riders and bring musical joy. Other than music, we encourage you to dress up, bring a good attitude, and potentially your own speakers to blast music for yourself and fellow riders.

Stop by PBOT's table at Salmon Street Springs to sign up for Get There Oregon and participate in the May Bike Month Challenge! Starting May 1, Get There users can log bike trips to qualify for random weekly prize drawings, and grand prize drawings, and to hold the title of Team or Individual Bike Month Champions. Join your work team or form your own to compete, have fun, and win prizes.
