Ride in the rain and win waterproof bicycling gear!
The days are getting shorter and the rain is falling, but don't let that stop you from riding your bicycle! Our Rainy Rider Contest is here to encourage bicycle riding in all seasons. With a bit of preparation, you'll soon be equipped to ride through the seasons in Portland!
What?
Throughout November, you will have the chance to win some rain jackets and accessories from Showers Pass, rain capes from Cleverhood, as well as rechargeable bike lights from PDW!
BIKETOWN users: If your photo features a BIKETOWN bicycle, you'll be entered into an additional drawing to win a free annual BIKETOWN membership + bike shop gift card!
Students and kids: If your photo features a student or kid, you'll have the chance to win a Safe Routes to School goodie bag including bike lights, pencils, and a backpack, water bottle, and reflective sticker! Up to four winners will be selected each week.
How?
Text BIKE to 888-520-0526 followed by a photo of yourself and your bicycle in the rain (if it doesn't rain all week, you can still submit a photo). You'll automatically be entered to win a waterproof prize. The photo you submit must have been taken that same week.
Additionally, we will choose one winning photo at the end of the month to be featured in our campaign materials. We'd love the photo to be as close to your perspective as possible (i.e. with your handlebars or wheel in the image) to reflect what it's like seeing Portland from your bike!
When?
Drawings will happen each Monday in November for the previous full week (Monday - Sunday). There will be four chances to enter the contest.
Contest details:
Participants can only win once during the campaign. If a winner is randomly generated who has already won, we’ll generate another randomized winner. One entry per person per week throughout November (Monday - Sunday). The photo you submit must have been taken that same week. Participants must reside in the Portland metro area. Winner will be notified via text message the following Monday, and will have the option to pick up their prize from the Portland Building (1120 SW 5th Ave). Participants agree to have their photo shared on PBOT's social media and web pages.
