New to Portland Bike Ride

Are you new to Portland? Want to become more confident riding a bicycle around town and meet new friends along the way? Then this ride is for you!
*First 30 riders will receive a chilled bandana to stay cool while riding*
New to Portland Ride: Thursday, August 17, 2023. This ride is part of Pedalpalooza, and is organized by PBOT and the SmartTrips program, with support from Metro and the Federal Transit Administration

- Heat notice: current predictions show temperature will be about 90º F.  Please bring water for the ride.  We will have chilled bandanas to wear: portable air conditioning while you ride! -

Are you new to Portland? Want to become more confident riding a bicycle around town and meet new friends along the way? Then this ride is for you! We'll be riding bicycles around Southeast Portland neighborhoods and end at some SE Foster food carts!

This ride is organized by the City of Portland's Active Transportation team; we'll provide free Bike & Walk Maps, and other cycling resources to help you get around your new city :)

Meet at 6:00 and roll out at 6:15 for a 5-6 mile ride, at a moderate pace using Portland's network of low-stress bikeways. No one is left behind and folks new to biking are most welcome. Event is FREE and open to the public.
