Join us at a bike fair!
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) hosts several bike fairs each year in partnership with local schools and the Community Cycling Center. These events are free and for people of all ages.
Get ready to roll in time for Sunday Parkways! Bike Fairs take place all over Portland, and happen a few weeks before a Sunday Parkways event in the same neighborhood.

Bike Fair Activities:
Learn to Ride
A main focus of our bike fairs it to provide a safe and comfortable environment to learn how to ride a bike. Our expert staff will guide you as you learn to balance, steer and brake. We will have adult and children's bikes available to borrow for this activity.
Bike Skills Course
Practice your biking skills at our Bike Skills Course! This activity offers a fun area for participants to practice the rules of the road, and navigate sharing the space with other cyclists.
Bike Safety Stations Passport Activity
Pick up your passport at the Welcome Table when you arrive, and visit the different safety stations to get a stamp in your passport. Once you get a stamp for each station, go back to the Welcome Table to receive a prize! Our Safety Stations cover topics including: how to plan your bicycle route, learning the rules of the road, and how to do basic bike maintenance.
Community Rides
Join for a short (1-2 miles) guided community ride on nearby streets! You'll get a chance to practice what it's like biking on different types of roadways and biking in a group.
Helmet distribution and fitting
We partner with Trauma Nurses Talk Tough to offer free helmets to participants as well as helmet fitting. Already have a helmet? Stop by to make sure it fits you properly!
