Get There Bike Month Challenge
The Bike Month Challenge is back! The Portland Metro Regional Bike Month Challenge is open to anyone living or working in the Metro region, and logging any bike trip on the Get There Oregon website- whether for commuting or just getting around. Starting May 1, Get There users can log bike trips to qualify for random weekly prize drawings, and grand prize drawings, and to hold the title of Team or Individual Bike Month Champions. Join your work team or form your own to compete, have fun, and win prizes. It's time to bike a little more!

TuneUp Thursday by Go Lloyd
When: Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 4 - 6:00 p.m.
Where: Hassalo Plaza
What: Join Go Lloyd and PDX Mobile Bike Repair for a FREE safety check up, as well as trivia, info, and community. It's the perfect time to get your bike checked in prep for Bike Month. One bike per person; first come, first served; patience appreciated!
Pedal Together – Biking Buds & PDXDads
When: Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Where: St. Philip Neri Catholic Church Parking Lot (Ladd's Addition)
What: Bring your bikes, kids, and come ride together! Join Biking Buds and PDXDads for a fun morning ride. Meet at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church Parking lot (Ladd's Addition) at 10 a.m. There will also be free coffee from Nossa Familia, bike support from Clever Cycles, plus Biking Buds discounts, raffle, and a post-ride hang at Baerlic! Go by Bike Day at Oaks Park
When: Sunday, May 3, 2026 from 12 - 7:00 p.m.
Where: Oaks Park
What: Arriving by bike doesn't just feel good—it pays off! Guests who ride in will receive 25% off Ride Wristbands, making it easier than ever to enjoy all your favorite attractions. This special event is made possible with the support of Metro and the Federal Transportation Administration.
New to Portland Ride: Lents
When: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Where: Lents Park (South side)
What: Are you new to town or new to cycling in Portland? Join our New to Portland ride in the Lents neighborhoods! This ride is free and open to everyone.
Bike to Books Ride
When: Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Where: Woodstock Library to Sellwood Library
What: Join the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) on a fun, family-friendly bike ride exploring bike routes connecting two Southeast libraries. We'll host a Bike to Books coloring activity once the ride arrives at the Sellwood Library.
Cycle the Well Field
When: Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 8:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Where: Meet at Aloft
What: Join Columbia Slough Watershed Council and the Portland Water Bureau for a free 17 mile bike ride through Portland's Columbia South Shore Well Field! Experts from the Portland Water Bureau and Columbia Slough Watershed Council will lead this moderately paced and scenic trip. Our group will be making frequent stops to break up the ride and offer opportunities for conversation about how groundwater provides flexibility and reliability to the City's water supply, and how we can all protect this important resource. Minors must be 12 years or older and accompanied by an adult. Please register in advance. Check in begins at 8:15, event begins at 8:45.
Southwest Portland Sunday Parkways
When: Sunday, May 17, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Where: Gabriel Park, Spring Garden Park, and Multnomah Arts Center
What: Come celebrate National Bike Month and enjoy open streets during the Southwest Portland Sunday Parkways event!
City Bike Bus
When: Wednesday, May 27, from 7:15 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.
Where: All routes will converge at Salmon Street Springs
What: Join the City of Portland's bike bus for a fun ride, starting across the city and ending at Salmon Street Springs! At the end of the ride we'll have coffee, treats, and music.
Centennial Neighborhood Bike Fair
When: Friday, May 29 from 2:45 - 5:45 p.m.
Where: Parklane Elementary School
What: Join this free family-friendly event to get ready for biking season! We offer Learn-to-ride sessions, bike skills activities, and more.
