What's a bike bus?
A bike bus is a group of students—but in this case, adults—biking to school—but in this case, downtown—together. Bike buses have been around for decades, but they have become increasingly popular in recent years. To learn more, read this Bike Portland story about the City Bike Bus.
Each bike bus will depart from their start location at a different time and arrive at Salmon Street Springs at 8:15 a.m.
All bike bus routes will travel to Salmon Street Springs (SW Naito Parkway and Salmon Street) to meet all other rides for a group photo at 8:15 a.m. After the group photo, hang around Salmon Street Springs to enjoy coffee and treats. *This element will only be available for the full City Bike Bus on August 26 and September 23 (not included in Special Editions for I-5 Closure).
As an extra thank you for switching your trip during the I-5 closure, Special Edition N and NE City Bike Bus riders are eligible to receive $5 of market currency at that day's Shemanski Park Farmers Market, open 10am-2pm. Tokens available for the first 500 riders, while supplies last. Special Edition Bike Bus riders can expect to receive a coupon (similar to the one pictured below) upon arriving at Salmon Springs. *This element will only be available for the Special Edition City Bike Bus rides (not included in the full City Bike Bus rides at this time).
