Apply for a temporary pickup/drop-off parking space for your business

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) launched the Safe Streets Initiative in response to the Covid-19 public health crisis. Part of this initiative is FREE, temporary, 5-minute pickup/drop-off permit to use a designated parking space near your business. Zones are valid through June 30, 2022.

This form will take 5-10 minutes to complete. Staff will respond to your request within 10 business days.

Determine if your location is eligible

  • Talk to your neighboring businesses. We will prioritize locations with high concentrations of restaurants and retail businesses that do not otherwise have other options.

  • Spaces will be located at corners for easier use. These spaces are not reserved for specific businesses or restaurants and can be used by anyone.

  • These 5-minute priority zones will be valid through June 30, 2022.

  • If the priority zone is in a metered area, PBOT Parking Enforcement will place delineators with the new zone information.

  • If the priority zone is in a non-metered area, PBOT will email the applicant a printable sign that will identify the parking space. If you don’t have access to a printer, PBOT will mail you the new signs. These signs must be affixed to an A-board, barricade, existing pole, or planter.
