Community Advisory Committee Seeks New At-Large Member
The Private for Hire Transportation Advisory Committee and the Transportation Network Company (TNC) Driver’s Advisory Committee are each seeking one at-large member to represent people with disabilities. The at-large public representatives for people with disabilities will share their perspective about using for-hire transportation services in Portland.
The term for each position will be 2 to 3 years. Terms may be extended up to a total of 8 years. Members interested in continuing to serve beyond 8 years must sit out for two years before reapplying to serve on the same advisory body.
Private For-Hire Transportation Advisory Committee Application
What's the purpose of the Private for Hire Transportation Advisory Committee? The committee focuses on issues impacting the companies, the vehicles and the drivers who provide on-demand transportation services in Portland and the passengers who rely on these services to get around Portland. The committee focuses on:
- Providing recommendations for regulators creating and enforcing City Code and Administrative Rules affecting the Private for Hire Transportation operations and services - including service to people with disabilities.
- Monitoring the application and enforcement of regulations for their effectiveness in achieving the City’s goals.
- Recommending customer service, permitting, process, and compliance improvements.
- Providing input to ensure the budget of the Private for Hire Transportation Program is adequate to meet service goals and compliance with all requirements in Portland City Code 16.40.
