Temporary Road Closure

Starting on Monday August 31st, crews will begin base repair work on SE 136th Avenue between SE Holgate Boulevard and Harold Street. While work is ongoing, the roadway will be closed, and access will only be available for people trying to reach a destination on that stretch. We will set up a detour route to direct people driving to SE 122nd Avenue. The road closure will last for about 3 weeks weeks, from August 31st until the third week of September.

Completed Paving Work: Powell to Division

Earlier this month, crews repaved SE 136th Avenue from SE Powell Boulevard to Division Street. Last week after the asphalt cured, crews were able to put down the new striping and next week crews will begin installing the traffic separators on the street. On-street parking is no longer allowed now that this section of SE 136th Avenue has bike lanes.

Sidewalk Work Expands: Powell to Foster

For the rest of the month and into September crews will continue excavating, forming, and pouring concrete for the new sidewalks on the west side of SE 136th Avenue. This weeks crews began work south of SE Holgate Boulevard and will continue moving south down towards SE Foster Road. Certain sections between SE Powell and Holgate boulevards had to be skipped as easements were processed and negotiated. Crews will go back to finish those sections once the easements are settled.
