What's happening now?

We have moved from planning to design. PBOT completed survey for both locations and has begun work on design. Construction is currently expected to begin in summer of 2024.

Project background

This project is part of a larger effort by the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) to improve safety on 122nd Avenue, identified as a High Crash Corridor (see more on our Vision Zero page). These improvements are meant to make the road safer for pedestrians, people biking, and those accessing transit while also balancing the needs of freight and other modes of travel.

As part of this project, crews and contractors will construct new pedestrian crossings with signals along 122nd Avenue, one north of NE Davis Street and another north of SE Clinton Street.

Project funding

This $3.3 million project is funded by the voter-approved 10-cent gas tax known as Fixing Our Streets

Project paid for by Fixing Our Streets: Your dime at work.
