About the North Portland in Motion
The Portland Bureau of Transportation's (PBOT) North Portland in Motion plan identifies transportation needs and near-term investments to improve access to community destinations and to support walking, biking, and transit use in the North Portland peninsula.
Study area
North Portland in Motion focuses on the residential and commercial areas of North Portland west of Interstate 5. The North Portland in Motion study area is defined by both natural and human-made edges, including rivers, bluffs, highways, railroads, and industrial areas.
What we have heard
North Portland in Motion launched in the summer of 2021, and early community engagement for the project focused on understanding transportation needs and issues. During the summer of 2022, the project team developed project ideas and shared them with the public. These project ideas have been reviewed by the North Portland in Motion Community Advisory Group at three meetings during the process of developing, refining, and prioritizing projects. The Community Advisory Committee also reviewed and helped shape the policy and program recommendations included in this online open house. Visit the public engagement web page to learn more about how community feedback has been gathered and how it has shaped North Portland in Motion. If you want to catch up on all North Portland in Motion engagement efforts, review the two engagement summaries:
