Construction updates

Overview: April 14 - 28 

In the next two weeks, PBOT will have several active work zones along NE/SE 82nd Avenue and adjacent streets with lane closures and detours of side streets. Please travel safely around work zones and pay attention to all flaggers, detour signs, and traffic control devices. Pedestrian routing will be in place around work zones.

Details and traffic impacts:

  • NE Fremont – ADA corner ramp work will require lane closures. 
  • NE Siskiyou – ADA corner ramp work and underground electrical work will require lane closures. 
  • NE Sacramento – Underground sump installation on 82nd will require lane closures.
  • NE Tillamook – Underground work will require lane closures.
  • NE Hancock – Underground sump installation on 82nd Avenue will require lane closures. 
  • SE Mill Street – Continued sidewalk construction on the north side of Mill  Street requires a road closure and detour for vehicles. SE Mill will remain closed to vehicle traffic through 5/1. SE Mill will remain open to pedestrians and people bicycling.
  • SE Clinton to Taggart – Underground utility work on the west side of 82nd  will require lane closures.
  • SE Harrison to Division – Spot pavement repair will require lane closures.
  • SE 85th between Woodward Court and Brooklyn - Contractors will continue construction on an alterative driveway to create access to the east side of Fubonn Shopping Center from 85th Avenue. 

In addition to the above worksites, sump testing will take place at various locations with brief lane closures.

82nd Avenue Transit Project Open Houses

TriMet is holding open houses on the 82nd Avenue Transit Project this month, and wants to hear from you! The purpose of the open houses is to learn how you feel about tools being considered for making transit travel times on 82nd Avenue shorter. 

An online open house is open now! Visit trimet.org/82nd to review the plans, weigh potential outcomes, and leave your feedback by the end of the day on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Join TriMet and PBOT at an in-person open house on Wednesday, April 23, 4-6:30 p.m. at PCC Southeast on 82nd Avenue.

Grants and programs available 

Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) Community Grants

The Community Grants 2025 application period is now open! This fourth round of funding is strictly allocated for community-led projects and will distribute up to $67 million in grants. Apply through May 27, 2025.
