Newly planted trees on NE 82nd Avenue near Siskiyou Street, along Glenhaven Park. This week, contractors with PBOT began planting trees along NE 82nd Avenue, adjacent to new sidewalks and within median islands. Photo by City of Portland.
Overview: November 24 – December 5
There will be no travel lane closures on NE/SE 82nd Avenue from November 24 to 28 due to the Holiday Moratorium. Construction activity may continue on side streets and where work does not impact travel lanes.
In the next two weeks, contractors with PBOT will have several active work zones along NE/SE 82nd Avenue. One lane in each direction on 82nd Avenue will remain open during construction. People traveling on NE/SE 82nd Avenue can expect delays, especially during the morning and evening commutes. Please travel safely around work zones and pay attention to all flaggers, detour signs, and traffic control devices.
Details and traffic impacts:
- NE Fremont – Concrete repair will require lane closures.
- NE Siskiyou to Russell – Tree planting continues.
- NE Thompson to Schuyler – Driveway and civil work will require lane closures and turn restrictions.
- NE Tillamook– ADA and electrical work will require daytime side street closures in mid-December.
- NE 80th and 81st– Sidewalk construction will require road closures on NE 80th and 81st avenues between NE Halsey and NE Clackamas streets in December. Driveways on these blocks will remain open.
- SE Mill to Powell – Loop detection installation will require a signal shutdown and flaggers at SE Mill. This work is weather-dependent and the schedule may change. Concrete island construction will require lane closures near Portland Community College.
- SE Brooklyn to Tibbetts – Sidewalk demolition and underground signal work will require lane closures on 82nd Avenue.
- SE Lafayette – Signal foundation installation will require lane closures on 82nd and side street closures.
- SE Raymond to Insley – Underground work continues and will require lane closures on 82nd Avenue.
- SE Tolman – Civil and underground work will require lane closures on 82nd Avenue and daytime side street closures on SE Tolman east and west of 82nd Avenue in December.
