Construction updates

Overview: October 27 – November 7

In the next two weeks, contractors with PBOT will have several active work zones along NE/SE 82nd Avenue. One lane in each direction on 82nd Avenue will remain open during construction. People traveling on NE/SE 82nd Avenue can expect delays, especially during the morning and evening commutes. Please travel safely around work zones and pay attention to all flaggers, detour signs, and traffic control devices.

Details and traffic impacts:

  • NE Fremont – Sign relocation on private property, underground electrical work will require lane closures
  • NE Siskiyou - Signal equipment installation will require the signal to be shut down and the intersection flagged. Electrical installation – loop detection.
  • McDaniel Entrance – Work near the signalized driveway to the main McDaniel High School entrance will require the signal to be shut down. This work will take place during upcoming no school days.
  • NE Russell to Thompson – Median island construction continues. Sidewalk and driveway construction continues. Work will require daytime lane closures and turn restrictions.
  • NE Eugene  – Corner ramp work will require lane closures.
  • NE Tillamook – Underground work willl require signal shut down and the intersection to be flagged.
  • Clinton to Brooklyn - Median island construction begins. Work will require daytime lane closures and turn restrictions.
  • SE Woodward – Paving southbound lanes near Woodward tentatively begins November 3. During paving, 82nd Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Vehicles traveling to Fubonn Shopping Center are encouraged to use an alternative entrance via 85th and Brooklyn street. This work is weather dependent and the schedule may shift.
  • SE 85th Avenue – Sidewalk work on 85th Avenue between Brooklyn and Clinton continues, requiring parking restrictions and intermittent closures. Access to Fubonn via 85th will be maintained.
  • Brooklyn to Powell - Median island construction begins. Work will require daytime lane closures and turn restrictions.
  • SE Franklin – Underground work and corner ramp construction will require daytime closures of SE Franklin east of 82nd Avenue. Temporary access will be provided via the parking lot just south of SE Franklin between Best Value Inn and Tik Tok Restaurant.
  • SE Mitchell to Insley – Underground work will require lanes closure on 82nd Avenue.
  • SE Ramona – Civil and underground work will require lane closures on 82nd Avenue and a side street closure of Ramona west of 82nd Avenue.
