Construction updates

Overview: October 13 - 24 In the next two weeks, contractors with PBOT will have several active work zones along NE/SE 82nd Avenue. One lane in each direction on 82nd Avenue will remain open during construction. People traveling on NE/SE 82nd Avenue can expect delays, especially during the morning and evening commutes. Please travel safely around work zones and pay attention to all flaggers, detour signs, and traffic control devices.

Median islands on NE 82nd Avenue are beginning to take shape. Contractors with PBOT pour concrete curbs into forms near McDaniel High School. Later this year, trees and other vegetation will be planted in the center median island. Photo by PBOT.

Details and traffic impacts:

  • NE Siskiyou- Signal equipment installation will require the signal to be shut down and the intersection flagged.
  • NE Russell to Thompson – Median island construction continues. Sidewalk and driveway construction continues. Work will require daytime lane closures and turn restrictions.
  • NE Eugene  – Corner ramp work will require lane closures.
  • NE Tillamook – Underground work and signal equipment installation will require the signal to be shut down and intersection flagged. Tillamook will be closed just east of 82nd during work hours.
  • SE Washington – Sidewalk construction on the south side of the street from 80th to 82nd avenues will require a lane closure of the bus and bike lane. Lane striping between 82nd and 92nd will require lane closures.
  • SE Mill to Division - Median island construction begins. Work will require daytime lane closures and turn restrictions.
  • SE Woodward – One night of paving tentatively planned for 10 p.m. Monday, October 13 – 7 a.m. Tuesday, October 14 will require lane closures, turn restrictions, and traffic delays near SE Woodward. During nighttime paving, vehicles traveling to Fubonn Shopping Center will be detoured to 85th via Brooklyn street. This work is weather dependent and the schedule may shift.
  • SE 85th Avenue– Sidewalk work on 85th Avenue between Brooklyn and Clinton will continue, requiring parking restrictions and intermittent closures. Access to Fubonn via 85th will be maintained.
  • SE Brooklyn to Powell – Underground work will require lane closures.
