Information about upcoming construction projects on 122nd Avenue.
There are many projects along 122nd Avenue that will soon be in construction. Below is a summary of the projects with information about the timeline and more details.
Intersection work at 122nd and Halsey- Started April 27 2026, ongoing through summer 2026.
- To improve accessibility, safety, and drainage at this intersection, PBOT will be making modifications to the curb ramps, extending the bike lane on 122nd Avenue up to the intersection, adding bicycle signal detection, and modifying inlets and stormwater catch basins. This work is anticipated to wrap up in summer 2026. A later project will raise the bike lanes to sidewalk level on the intersection approaches.
- Paving of 122nd between NE Broadway Street and NE Glisan Street
- Repaving of 122nd Avenue from NE Broadway to NE Glisan street is planned for September 2026. As part of this repaving, the existing parking will be converted to bicycle lanes, and the existing bicycle lanes will become a buffer. A later project will add vertical protection.

Burnside Better Bus Spot Improvement
- This project will stripe a new bus and turn lane on 122nd Avenue between NE Davis and SE Ankeny Streets with the goal of providing faster, more reliable TriMet service. Restriping is planned for September/October 2026.
- PBOT will be installing new or enhanced crossings at five locations along 122nd Avenue. These locations were selected based on public feedback and analysis during the 122nd Avenue Plan. The locations are at or near:
- NE Beech Street (Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon)
- NE Russell Street (upgrade to Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon)
- San Rafael Shopping Center north of NE Broadway Street (new full signal and access management)
- NE Davis St (Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon)
- SE Clinton St (Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon)
- The construction of these crossings is anticipated to begin in late 2026.
- PBOT will be installing new or enhanced crossings at five locations along 122nd Avenue. These locations were selected based on public feedback and analysis during the 122nd Avenue Plan. The locations are at or near:
- New Street Lighting
- Dark conditions are a factor in many crashes, especially along 122nd Avenue. Adding more street lighting to help everyone see and be seen will help make 122nd Avenue safer. A project to fill gaps in lighting between NE San Rafael Street and SE Foster Road will begin construction in 2026.

- New School Beacon @ Parkrose High School
- A new school beacon, indicating when drivers must drive below 20 mph, will be installed at NE Shaver St and 122nd Ave. The two new beacons were installed in the winter of 2024/2025.
