Section 6: Share Your Input!

Thank you to everyone who came to an open house or took the online survey! We are currently reviewing the feedback and will adjust designs and come back in the Fall with updates on how we used the feedback. 

Thanks to everyone who came to an open house this spring. We had over 300 people attend an event or complete an online survey.  We are currently reviewing the feedback and discussing how to adjust the project scope and designs. Look for the full survey and feedback summary in July.  Stay tuned for updates later this fall on how we adjusted designs.

As in most of our projects there are trade-offs to be evaluated and a mix of strong support and opposition to the changes. Most people we engaged with agree that traffic safety improvements are needed along 122^nd Avenue. Most people were generally supportive of the changes proposed with some strong concerns about congestion in the southern end.

• Support for lane reductions and traffic calming
• Overall support for general safety improvements
• Strong support for bike lane and pedestrian improvements (e.g. protected bike lanes and signals)
• Strong support for re-paving
• Concern about congestion from lane reductions south of Powell

• Dislike the roundabout

Next Steps

The project team will take the comments we receive and make adjustments to design where possible. We take feedback seriously but are not always able to accommodate requests for changes due to engineering guidelines and grant agreement rules. Design will continue through 2026 so stay tuned for updated designs by signing up for the email list. 

Construction on for the Safe Streets for All Project will begin in 2028 though other project along the corridor will start sooner. The work will happen in several phases with the repaving happening this summer, some new intersections being installed in 2027, and other improvements to follow after that. At any one location along the corridor, the public can expect to see several periods of construction activity and inactivity throughout the construction duration. PBOT will share regular updates throughout construction via email and on our project website. To receive construction updates, join the project email list.
