The Safe Streets for All Project will improve several of the intersections along 122nd Avenue
NE Stanton St and 122nd Avenue
Proposed Improvements
- New full traffic signal with left turn lane
- All corners upgrades
- ADA compliant zebra striped crosswalks
- Bumpouts (or curb extensions)
- Protected bike lanes approaching intersection
How we used the community feedback: Added a signal to NE Stanton Street
During the planning process and engagement work for other 122nd Avenue projects, we heard that it's stressful to turn left off of NE Stanton Street, and also for people to walk across the street. Additionally, given the crash history, we are proposing to add a new full signal to this location to improve safety and help reduce speeding.
NE San Rafael and 122nd Avenue
Proposed Improvements
- New enhanced bus stops on both sides bus stops in lane
- Generous through zone for people on sidewalk
- Add bus shelter for northbound travel
- Concrete separators to protect people on bikes
- Remove right turn lane for vehicles
- Improved lighting
NE Glisan St and 122nd Avenue
Proposed Improvements
- Protected bike lanes approaching intersection
- Relocated bus stop with new shelter
- New protected intersection for people walking and biking
- Cross-bikes
- Remove northbound right turn lane
- Southbound right turn lane will add a separate turn phase to protect people walking and biking across the street.
SE Harold St and 122nd Avenue
Proposed Improvements
- 1-lane Roundabout
- Improves traffic flow and safety for all users
- 10-12 ft wide multi-use path for people walking and biking at intersection, bike lane will ramp up off street to cross street.
- South of Holgate - 30' wide planted median
