Schedule, schedule, schedule

After you’ve received your permit and have scheduled the work, you will need to call our inspection line at (503) 823-7002, Option 1, at least 48 hours prior to the anticipated start of work, unless instructed otherwise, to request inspection.

If the work is rescheduled or gets delayed, the process will need to be repeated.

Please note that it is a requirement of the permit to call for inspection and a failure to do so, could result in fines.

Why are inspections necessary?

PBOT Utility Inspectors ensure that all applicable code and policies are being met. From depth of cover and separation requirements to pavement restoration standards, inspectors are there to confirm that the public right-of-way is accessible and safe for the travelling public. The inspection team helps to problem-solve in the field and during construction.

Important Inspection Reminders

To keep your project on track and ensure everything is done correctly, please remember the following:

Schedule Inspections Through the Inspection Line ONLY: To make the process smooth and efficient, always use the official inspection line to schedule your inspections. Please avoid contacting individual inspectors directly, as this helps us keep everything organized and ensures timely service.

Don’t Forget the Final Inspection!: Once your project is complete, it’s crucial to schedule a final inspection to make sure everything meets the required standards. This step is essential to closing out your permit and ensuring your project complies with all codes and regulations.

We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to our office.
