Work has begun on preparing the curb and sidewalk on the west side of SE 136th Avenue between Powell and Holgate boulevards. For the next three weeks, crews will be cutting pavement, excavating, as well as forming and pouring curbs. During construction, short segments of the southbound lane of SE 136th Avenue will be closed. Flaggers will help direct people driving in both directions around the worksite. Work will happen Mondays through Thursdays during the day and on Friday mornings. Work will be limited on Friday afternoons to address concerns about delays that we heard last week.
At the end of July, crews will grind and repave the roadway on SE 136th Avenue between Division Street and Powell Boulevard. Paving work should last for two to three days. Flaggers will help direct traffic during this work as well.
