The right-of-way team is continuing to settle easements with property owners along SE 136th Avenue. As those are wrapped up, crews will return to the area between SE Powell and Holgate boulevards to finish curb and sidewalk work there.

Powell to Division complete

The work between SE Powell Boulevard and Division Street is complete. SE 136th Avenue now has protected bike lanes in this section. That means people can no longer park their cars on the street. Please keep the bike lanes clear and be aware that cars parked in the bike lane may get a ticket.

Paving work south of Powell

The 17" repair work that was done between SE Powell and Holgate boulevards in September had to start a few hundred feet south of SE Powell Boulevard. When that remaining segment is paved, crews will need to close the street during the daytime. That work is not currently scheduled. We will make sure to send out an announcement before closing the street.

Utility work on SE 136th Avenue

NW Natural and PGE are moving utilities to accommodate the new roadway layout. As their crews work they will also need to flag vehicles around work areas. PBOT is coordinating with them to avoid overlapping our worksites, but this may lead to multiple areas of SE 136th Avenue under construction at the same time.

Remaining timeline

Paving work will slow down in the coming months because it is usually not possible in the rain or when temperatures are very low. We will continuing the work that we can during this time. In spring, work will ramp up again, and currently we are on track to finish the project by June 2021
