This Local Improvement District (LID) will construct street and sidewalk improvements on portions of SE Taylor Street and SE 89th Avenue next to Berrydale Park.

What’s happening now?

Construction is underway. Initial work will build sidewalk on the south side of SE Taylor Street. Streets remain open in the project area.

Project Background

Portland City Council formed this Local Improvement District on December 14th, 2022. The project includes street and sidewalk improvements complementing the Berrydale Park Improvement Project.

Project Components

  • 4' to 6' wide sidewalk on the south side of SE Taylor Street along Berrydale Park from 120 feet east of 89th Avenue to 92nd Avenue (design will preserve large deodar cedar tree at 9020 SE Taylor Street)
  • 6' wide sidewalk on the east side of SE 89th Avenue next to Berrydale Park
  • Curbs, paving (20' wide), and drainage on SE 89th Avenue next to Berrydale Park
  • 15 new street trees
  • 2 new ADA accessible curb ramps at SE Taylor Street & 90th Avenue (south side only)

Project Funding

$839,426 with most funding provided through Portland Parks & Recreation with overhead costs funded by the Portland Bureau of Transportation.
