What's Happening Now?

Construction on Phase 1 is underway (see map below). Expect delays when traveling on NE Columbia Boulevard near 42nd Avenue.

Signal installation and related improvements are underway on NE Columbia Boulevard at 42nd Avenue. In coming weeks, the intersection will be rebuilt in concrete; this will occur in stages to allow streets to remain open. Concrete requires time to cure and gain strength, so there will be periods when construction appears to have paused while this curing occurs.

Also, NE 46th Avenue is being repaved at the intersection of Columbia Boulevard and continuing about 150 feet north. We will rebuild the remainder of NE 46th Avenue during the second phase of construction in 2025. Business access will be maintained.

Travel slowly and cautiously in our work zones, observe all directions by reader boards and flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.
