What’s happening now?

Project design is complete and the project is being scheduled for construction. Work will be completed by PBOT’s Maintenance Operations crews in fall 2021. We hope to be able to schedule construction during the weekend.

Construction was originally planned for spring 2020, but was delayed because of the SW Boones Ferry Bridge and Restoration Project, which is detouring vehicle traffic onto SW 35th.

Project Background

PBOT will be reorganizing the road to create bike lanes that connect neighborhoods to Jackson Middle School and future biking connections. The speed limit is 25 miles per hour on SW 35th. This project was first identified in the Portland Bike Plan for 2030 (created in 2010) and was prioritized for implementation in the Southwest in Motion plan for active transportation projects in Southwest Portland.
