The first phase of construction consisting primarily of concrete work (curbs, sidewalks and driveways), began on November 5, 2012 and was completed on January 22, 2013.
The second phase of construction consisting of street reconstruction and additional concrete work (additional curbs, sidewalks, and driveways), began on June 24, 2013, with SW 11th Avenue reopened to traffic on August 8, 2013 and substantial completion by the contractor on August 16, 2013. Additional sidewalk work was included in the second phase of construction to complete the pedestrian connection on both sides of SW 11th Avenue from SW Gibbs Street to SW Gaines Street.
Tree planting is tentatively scheduled for Fall 2014; no more schedule updates are planned.
Project Funding
Design and construction of this project was funded by Marquam Hill parking meter revenue and sidewalk infill funding.
