Project Background
This project includes construction along the south side of SE Washington Street from SE 80th Ave to 82nd Ave. The project will construct sidewalk, remove the existing temporary transit platform, update 3 ramps to be ADA-compliant, build a curb extension at the NE corner of SE 80th Ave and SE Washington St, and install a sump maintenance hole at the intersection of SE 81st Ave and SE Washington St.

Project Description
This project was identified and prioritized as a Fixing Our Streets project to complete the sidewalk gap on SE Washington St between SE 80th Ave and SE 82nd Ave.
Phase 1: Sump (construction complete)
Install a sump at the intersection of SE Washington St and SE 81st Ave. The improvements will reduce the risk of combined sewer overflows and prevent flooding by collecting and infiltrating stormwater runoff. Phase 2: SE Washington St sidewalk (design complete)
Construct sidewalk along the south side of SE Washington Street from SE 80th Ave to 82nd Ave and update several curb ramps. Deconstruct the temporary bus platform on SE Washington St.

Public Involvement Resources
Project Funding
This project is funded $600,000 from Fixing Our Streets and $275,000 from Civil Rights Education and Enforcement Center (CREEC). The Fixing Our Streets $0.10 per gallon fuel tax was approved by voters in May 2016, May 2020, and again in May 2024. Due to a settlement with CREEC, PBOT has an agreement to deliver 1,500 ADA-compliant curb ramps per year for 12 years.
