NE MLK Jr Blvd Pedestrian Improvement Project - NE Grahm and NE Sumner

Background

Martin Luther King Jr Blvd is a main motor vehicle thoroughfare in Portland and has been for many years. This street has seen both increased car and pedestrian traffic in recent years, resulting in dangerous conditions for people walking. Between 2010 and 2014 alone, there were 99 total reported pedestrian related crashes on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd between Tillamook and Ainsworth. Project Funding

The project's total budget was $449,700 ($199,700 from Fixing Our Streets, $150,000 from Vision Zero General Fund, and $100,000 from Vision Zero Marijuana Tax)
