NE Glisan St Bridge Removal at NE 90th Ave

Transportation
Completed
The project will remove the existing bridge along NE Glisan St at NE 90th Ave and fill it with standard roadway materials.
Complete Fall 2016

Project Background

The bridge was built in 1911 and shows signs of deterioration, making it a potential hazard to buses and other heavy vehicles. In addition to the new embankment, the finished product will include ADA corner ramps, new pavement and striping, stormwater planters, trees, and a bus shelter.

This bridge initially served as a viaduct in the early 1900s crossing over the railway connecting Montavilla to Bull Run. Since the end of the trolley service in the 1930s, the areas adjacent to the bridge had been filled in, concealing the presence of the bridge.
