Overview

SE 92nd Ave & SE Division St, E Burnside St & NE/SE 122nd Ave, E Burnside St & NE/SE 148th Ave, and N Basin Ave & N Emerson St are high crash intersections with a history of severe injury and fatal crashes. N Basin Ave between N Emerson St and N Leverman St has similarly experienced multiple severe injury and fatal crashes.

This project will construct safety improvements at the above intersections, including leading pedestrian intervals, larger signal heads and supplemental signal heads, reflective backplates, signage, high-visibility crosswalks and stop bars, lighting, and curb extensions.

On N Basin Ave, between N Emerson St and N Leverman St, the project will install roadside lighting, curve warning signage, edgelines, and a curbed center traffic separator with tubular markers through the roadway curves.

These investments will reduce crashes and improve safety throughout the project area.

Project funding

$3,916,800 from the federal All Roads Transportation Safety (ARTS) program and $435,200 from City General Transportation Revenues (GTR).
